Colony counters are used to estimate a liquid culture’s density of microorganisms by counting individual colonies on an agar plate, slide, mini gel, or Petri dish. Typical applications include Ames testing, bacterial mutation assays, and E. coli bacterial colonies.

How to use:

1. Connect the pen to the equipment
2. turn on the switch, and put the Petri dish on the white panel.
3. Use the pen to count the colony on the surface of Petri dishes. There is a color that have been counted, and if there is a buzzer, it shows the counting is effective.
4. The number on the display screen would be added automatically, check carefully with the magnifier, and confirmed all the dots have been counted. (If there is any miss, could use the keypress of the manual to count, LED show the quantity.
5. After finishing counting, record the quantity on the paper, then recount again, compare with the number with the first time, if the quantity is the same, the result would be more accurate, remove the Petri dishes, after recording, press “restart”, the screen would be back to the initial status.
